The Purba Limited is a diversified conglomerate incorporated as a public limited company under the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), Bangladesh. The company was founded on the vision and leadership of Abu Zafar Chowdhury, a distinguished freedom fighter and former Bangladesh Air Force fighter pilot, whose discipline and perseverance have shaped the company's values and growth since its inception.

Over the years, The Purba Limited has earned a strong reputation in infrastructure and real estate development, delivering residential and commercial projects in some of the country’s most prominent locations, including Mirpur DOHS, Savar DOHS, and Jalshiri Abashon. The company has also played a significant role in the development of major infrastructure projects, including airport runways, hotels, commercial complexes, and modern ready-made garment (RMG) manufacturing facilities.

GROUP CAPTAIN ABU ZAFAR CHOWDHURY, GD(P), PSC (RETD.)

Group Captain Abu Zafar Chowdhury (Retd.) serves as the Chief Custodian of The Purba Limited, bringing a wealth of leadership, operational, and administrative experience gained through a distinguished career in the Bangladesh Air Force.

Over more than two decades of dedicated service, he excelled as an operational pilot and flying instructor, leading several key operational and training units. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to military aviation, he was awarded the prestigious Bangladesh Air Force Seven-Star Medal for achieving outstanding flying and instructional hours without an attributable accident—an accomplishment that reflects the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and excellence.

As Chief Custodian, he plays a pivotal role in upholding the company's commitment to quality, accountability, and customer satisfaction. His strategic guidance and disciplined approach help ensure that every project is executed with meticulous planning, professional oversight, and attention to detail.
